Bunnahabhain wurde 1881 gegründet und produziert einen leichten Malt Whisky mit unterschiedlichem Torfgehalt. Die Destille liegt in Port Askaig direkt an der Nordwestküste der Insel Islay. Dieses Bourbon Hogshead hat uns durch seine große Eleganz, Reife und Komplexität überzeugt! An

Nase zeigt dieser Bunnahabhain eine spannende Mischung aus
exotischen Früchten, Hafenkante,
Meeresbrise und leichtem Rauch- und Torf - sehr lecker und elegant! Im
Mund erfolgt ein würzig-nussiger Antritt mit salziger
Brise, dann süße Fruchtaromen mit schöner Öligkeit, sehr Tipp: diesem alten Bunnahabhain sollten Sie besonders viel Zeit zum Atmen geben, damit sich alle Aromen zeigen können - es lohnt sich! Diese Abfüllung ist ab sofort für 110 Euro, als 5cl Miniatur für 11 Euro und natürlich auch als Sample verfügbar. Das Frontlabel schmückt ein Aquarell von Kunstmaler Horst Manthée (Hotte). Es zeigt eine aktuelle Ansicht der Bunnahabhain Distillery, die es als handsignierten Druck in DIN A4 für 15 Euro gibt! Beurteilung von Ruben Luyten (www.whiskynotes.be):Nose: starts fairly simple on fragrant oranges and sea breezes. After opening up, the fruitiness widens into orange peel, fruit cake, hints of vanilla. The sea breeze develops into a big saltiness and all-round spiciness. Some leather and nutmeg as well. Mouth: not overly powerful, but punchy enough and very complex. There are nutty notes, fruity notes (even hints of coconut and tropical fruits), a beer-like malty note, eucalyptus oil, a leathery note again, liquorice… and again big coastal elements. Finish: medium long, half sweet / half salty with biscuity notes, soft peat and ginger. Not an easy one to assess, but a very complex and proudly coastal Bunnahabhain. Take your time and enjoy. Score: 89/100
